Are you a sangria lover? I most definitely am. For years I would whip up batches of my favorite sangria recipes for barbeques and get togethers. I had my go-to recipe, a red wine sangria, that I made all the time until I found a couple recipes with white wine, as well as a wonderful watermelon sangria.
According to Wikipedia (not exactly the best source of information on spirits, but I was in a hurry), sangria is an alcoholic punch originating from Spain that traditionally consists of red wine, fruit, brandy and orange juice. Tradition is a good thing, but variety is the spice of life (lame cliche, sorry). There are many flavor combinations that could loosely be called sangria, and I have been experimenting with several. I also figured that you don’t have to make an entire pitcher to enjoy it, especially if you’re the only person around to drink it. It wouldn’t be responsible of me to provide drink recipes in portions that only work for a big crowd. I’ve already posted some sangria recipes for big events, so let’s make this post all about YOU. You may be craving just a glass of sangria and don’t want to buy the pre-mixed kind at the liquor store (ewwww). And you also don’t want to be tempted by having a large pitcher in the fridge that will only be enjoyed by one person. That is dangerous.
