Grapefruit Crush

Thanks to a very late Thanksgiving this year, the Christmas season really shocked me with its instant obnoxious presence.  No reprieve after Turkey Day, just full blown panic at trying to get everything done in a much shorter amount of time.  I have very little spare time this year due to a full time job, a brutal commute and a few other ventures I’ve been working on.  But these are first world problems that I’m not going to let stress me out.  I love the holidays and I keep reminding myself to slow down, enjoy the moment and quit worrying about unimportant details (like the dust on my fireplace mantle- you don’t want to know).

Of course this time of year, many of us have holiday parties to either attend or host.  If you find yourself in the latter group, I have a fun batch drink for you to try (Bonus: NO cranberry juice included!  Way too many Christmas punches with cranberry juice).  The Grapefruit Crush is a light, refreshing beverage that is super easy to make and won’t cause your guests to become too impaired unless they drink way too much of it.  You can find this and many other holiday cocktail recipes in my new e-book, It’s Beginning to Look A Lot Like Cocktails, available only at Amazon.com.  You can check it out here.

Grapefruit Crush
1 1/2 cups Deep Eddy’s grapefruit vodka
3/4 cup triple sec
3 1/2 cups pink grapefruit juice

Pink grapefruit slices

Pour first three ingredients into a pitcher and stir.  Add ice and fresh grapefruit slices to the pitcher just prior to serving.  Add some club soda for an even lighter cocktail.  Enjoy!
