Cranberry Margaritas for a Crowd

It’s the end of the year again, and with Christmas in the books, New Year’s Eve is upon us.  Have you already secured your wine, beer and spirits for the evening?  Or are you like me and need to go out to fight the crowds this weekend? Every year I swear I am going to plan ahead, and every year I end up cursing myself as I am searching in vain for that elusive parking spot at my local liquor store.  Maybe I will add “Stop procrastinating” to my list of 2020 goals, but in the meantime, I have been thinking about what to prepare for my New Year’s Eve cocktail.

I really do like this time of year, as it causes us to reflect on the past 365 days and helps us plan for the days ahead. I have to say that 2019 was a really great year for me personally.  I was able to visit some friends that I hadn’t seen in awhile, celebrate a few milestones (one friend’s retirement and two weddings), and spend a bit of time with my mom.  And as I’ve mentioned here previously, I self published my holiday cocktail recipe book on Amazon, something I’ve wanted to do for a few years.  I also started a new full time job last January that I really like.  Most importantly, my loved ones are healthy, which is something I take less and less for granted the older I get.

As I make my list of goals for the upcoming year, I pause to think about what’s in store in the next 12 months.  There are a few concrete things I want to accomplish in 2020, but I won’t list them here for fear they won’t come to fruition. At this point, let’s celebrate another year of friends, family and fun with a pitcher of cranberry margaritas.  I can’t think of a reason not to.

Here’s the recipe-

Cranberry Margaritas for a Crowd
15 oz tequila (I prefer Hornitos Reposado)
4 oz triple sec
10 oz cranberry juice
5 oz each lime juice (fresh is best) and orange juice

lime wedges.

Combine all ingredients in a pitcher with ice and stir.  Pour into glasses (rimmed with salt if you prefer).  Serves ten.  Here’s to the best year ever!

It's New Year's Eve!

This sounds so refreshing! I won’t be home entertaining at New Years this time, But I do see this happening in January for book club or something! Cheers to the New Year!
