Contrary to what you might be noticing online and in the brick and mortar stores, it is not quite the Christmas season yet. I have already been hearing Christmas music in the big box retailers, but savvy shoppers (and me) know that they are just trying to get consumers in the mood to spend early and often.
In case you’re not near a calendar, we still have two weeks before Thanksgiving! After Christmas, I have to say Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. So much food. So many carbs. And more specifically, mashed potatoes aplenty. I am obsessed with mashed potatoes. But since I’m not a fan of cooking, my mashed potato recipe, while easy to follow, is too time-consuming for me to prepare more than a couple times a year. You may have already guessed that those two times happen to coincide with my two favorite holidays. Anyway, I digress.
So since we are only in November, I have a delightful fall cocktail to share with you. I created it for a fundraiser I was involved in last year for my local paralegal association, and they asked me to make it again this year. One of the group’s clever paralegals coined the drink “Legal-Ade,” but since the word “legal” might turn off some of you in my drinking audience, I changed its name to the Autumn Breeze. It’s a refreshing taste of fall no matter what you call it. Enjoy this now or serve it on Turkey Day (or both!) It’s light on the alcohol and won’t weigh you down, even after you start eating all those heavy appetizers.
As always, I thank you for reading this blog and I hope you have tried and enjoyed a few of my cocktail recipes. I wish all of you an enjoyable and tasty Thanksgiving with friends and family. Cheers!!
Pour all ingredients into a glass with ice and garnish with an apple wedge.
