It’s almost that time, folks- Election Day. Halloween was this past Saturday and now we are hours away from another spooky event. Depending on who you listen to, we could be in for an extended wait to find out who will be leading our country for the next four years.
I am not going to turn this into a political post. I’m not out to change anyone’s mind about who to vote for, and no one is going to change mine. But here’s something I think we can all agree on- we will all need a strong cocktail during this election process. And even though the election may not be “over” for a few weeks, we may as well start now. What better cocktail to enjoy on election night but a Painkiller? This is one of the recipes in my new book, Girls’ Night In!, which I hope you will check out on Amazon. The recipe is actually in the chapter of less alcohol drinks, but I’ve added some extra booze in this recipe because….well, because 2020.
Here’s the souped-up version of this popular drink-
Painkiller
2 oz spiced rum
1 oz light rum
4 oz pineapple juice
1 oz orange juice
1 oz Coco Lopez cream of coconut
Pour all ingredients in a tall glass with ice and sprinkle a dash of nutmeg on top. Garnish with a pineapple chunk if desired.
